Dr Mayil Vahanan Natarajan is one of the highly experienced Orthopedic Surgeons possessing more than 43 years of experience. He is extensively trained in Bone Cancer Treatment, Correction of Deformities, Herniated Disc, Functional Orthopedics, and Skeletal Muscle Therapy. He is the seventh Vice-Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai. In 1988, he introduced the concept of Limb Salvage Surgery by Custom Mega Prosthesis. He has a key role in establishing Orthopaedic Oncology as a Sub-Specialty in Orthopaedic Surgery in India. He is well-known to have performed 1700 cases of Custom Mega Prosthesis which is the largest number by a single surgeon across the globe. He is the first Indian surgeon as the President of the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumour Society. He has been privileged with various awards and recognitions.
