About Dr. Shakuntala V Shah

Dr. Shakuntala V Shah as a Surgical Oncologist possesses +23 years of experience in the surgical treatment of tumours in the breast, besides performing other surgeries of the breast and other cosmetic procedures. She is an Editorial Board member of the Journal of Surgical Oncology and is also the pioneer of the blue dye technique in sentinel node biopsy for breast cancer in Gujarat. Dr. Shah completed her graduation in 1973 from Gujarat University, followed by MS (General Surgery) in 1997. During her career, she has been lecturer and professor at the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, of which she held the position of the HoD for 10 years. Dr. Shah's practice as a surgical oncologist includes performing, breast tumour removal surgeries, breast augmentation and reduction surgeries, cosmetic surgery and other surgeries and offering other treatments. She has co-authored few papers for reputed journals.
