About Dr. Prabhu Nesargikar

Dr Prabhu Nesargikar has a well-Known Surgical Oncologist with experience of more than 16 years having worked in the UK and Singapore, and a Fellowship in S.Korea. He is a Consultant Oesophageal and Gastric Oncosurgeon, Bariatric and Endoscopic Surgeon at Bangalore. He is JAG (UK) certified in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and carries out various complex procedures endoscopically. A strong advocate of patient safety, Dr. Prabhu has been involved in Human Factors and NOTSS training for surgeons in the UK. He also has an MD from Cardiff University and takes a keen interest in research. The Doctor is one of the few select surgeons who offer both Laparoscopic and Endoscopic treatments for conditions like Reflux disease, Barrett’s, Achalasia and Cancers. Endoscopically, he can perform EMR/ ESD for early cancers, RFA treatment for Barretts and POEM for Achalasia patients. The Doctor is interested in cases with peritoneal cancer and performs novel treatments like PIPAC and IP chemotherapy to improve survival and quality of life. His other main interest is Bariatric Surgery and offers comprehensive treatment for weight loss - from endoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and intragastric balloons to laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. He also performs minimally invasive surgeries for hernias and gallbladders, including complex abdominal wall reconstruction for giant hernias. Dr. Prabhu is a member of IFSO, ISDE, AUGIS (UK) and ASI. Dr. Prabhu has published in various journals and has presented more than 100 papers in Conferences across the globe. He also has won prestigious awards including the “Young Investigator Award” at ESOT Congress, Belgium and awards at Japanese and Korean Cancer Congress.
